The aim here is to transcribe the 19 th Century UK census data (1841-1891). ![]() FreeCenįreeCen is a sister site to Free BMD. The BMD indexes are very useful in themselves, but the information in them is also needed when ordering copies of vital records from the GRO (Government Record Office). Volunteers have been transcribing records since 1998 and the project is largely complete now, with only some later years still to do.
